Contradictions

Tell the doctor or pharmacist about all the drugs taken by the patient now or recently, and about the drugs that the patient plans to take.

Clotrimazole reduces the effectiveness of amphotericin and other polyene antibiotics (e.g. nystatin, natamycin). At the same time, topical preparations containing potent steroids reduce the effect of clotrimazole.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

The drug should be used during pregnancy only if, in the opinion of the doctor, it is absolutely necessary.

When treating a infection of the labia, the drug should not be used vaginally.

During breastfeeding, the drug may be used only in justified cases, under the supervision of a doctor.

Driving vehicles and operating machinery

The drug has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.

Clotrimazolum Hasco contains cetostearyl alcohol

The drug may cause a local skin reaction (e.g. contact dermatitis).

Side Effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Dermal application of clotrimazole is well tolerated. Rarely, skin reactions (erythema, redness, skin burning, hives, spots, peeling of the epidermis, irritation) may occur. In addition, systemic allergic reactions, pain, and itching and rash may occur. Drug-induced adverse skin changes are transient and usually disappear after drug discontinuation.
