Hirudoid Gel is primarily used to treat superficial thrombophlebitis and provide relief from bruising and haematomas. It’s a topical gel that contains 0.3% heparinoid, which acts as a local anti-coagulant and helps reduce inflammation and pain when applied to the skin.
The gel should be applied in a thin layer to the affected area, using about 2-6 inches of gel at a time, and can be applied up to four times a day. It’s important to use this product only as directed and not to apply it to broken skin, large areas of the body, or sensitive areas such as near the eyes or mucous membranes. It should not be used by children under five years of age or by individuals who are allergic to any of its ingredients, which include propylene glycol that may cause skin irritation in some users.
