Brodacid is a medicine used to treat warts, containing two active substances – salicylic acid and lactic acid, which complement each other’s action in the fight against warts.

• Salicylic acid has a keratolytic effect, softens and softens calloused epidermis, facilitating its exfoliation.
• Lactic acid is a corrosive agent that destroys the horny layer of the skin.

In addition, the excipient present in the composition of the drug – dimethyl sulfoxide – increases the penetration of active ingredients into the tissue.

Do not use the preparation in children under 2 years of age, as well as during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Active substance: Acidum lacticum, Acidum salicylicum

Composition

Brodacid comes in the form of a liquid applied to the skin.

1 g of liquid for the skin contains 50.4 mg of lactic acid in the form of a 90% solution of lactic acid and 100 mg of salicylic acid.

In addition, the drug contains auxiliary substances: – nitrocellulose (2:1) + ethyl acetate, dimethyl sulfoxide.

Usage

Brodacid should be applied twice a day to clean, dry skin. Only the surface of the wart should be lubricated, depending on the treatment result, for several days, up to 6-8 weeks.

After unscrewing the cap and removing the applicator, wait a moment for the excess fluid to flow into the bottle, and then apply only to the surface of the nipple, making sure that the fluid does not get on healthy skin, mucous membranes or eyes.

After smearing the nipple, wait a moment until the liquid dries in the form of a white film.

Use of Brodacid in children and adolescentsDo not use the liquid in children under 2 years of age. In children from 2 to 12 years, it can be used only under the supervision of a doctor.

Contraindications

Do not use the medicinal product:

• in hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients,
• in the treatment of flat warts and lesions located around the eyes, on mucous membranes and on the face,
• for hairy and hairless nevi,
• on infected or inflamed skin,
• during pregnancy and breastfeeding,
• in children under 2 years of age.

Warnings

This is medicine. For safety, use it according to the leaflet attached to the package. Do not exceed the maximum dose of the drug. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

• The medicinal product is for external use only.
• Treatment should be discontinued if skin irritation occurs.
• Eyes, respiratory tract and mucous membranes should be protected from the medicinal product and its vapors.
• In case of accidental contact of the medicinal product with the eyes or mucous membranes, they should be rinsed immediately with plenty of water.
• The medicinal product should only be applied to the warts.
• Do not use the medicinal product on intact healthy skin or on damaged skin, as salicylic acid is absorbed through the skin and systemic side effects of salicylic acid may occur.
• If the surrounding healthy skin is covered with the medicinal product, it should be washed immediately with water.
• Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
• In children from 2 to 12 years, it can be used only under the supervision of a doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Due to the lack of studies on the use of the drug in pregnant and lactating women, the drug cannot be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding

Side effects

Burning and erosions may occur in the surrounding skin, leaving temporary discoloration.

If you experience widespread redness of the surrounding skin or other side effects, stop using the medicine and contact your doctor.
